I got an A in the class I needed this for, but it was a struggle. Yes, there are some advanced concepts, but this was not a good textbook for learning. It was very hard to follow, and oftentimes it was almost impossible to find what formula one needed for a given situation, because the book spent so much time on how the formulae were derived, but not enough on practical uses. Sometimes it was even difficult to determine what the variables were because the book had done such a poor job of explaining, and you couldn't even use the search function to find what you were looking for.
All the basics are here in this book I used this as a companion to go with my class assigned book and ended up using it in my job as well. One of the software packages we were looking at uses examples directly out of the Fetter in their software so having this book helped me test the software which was an added bonus.
Just what I needed. CD isn't very convenient these days but I'm sure a library week have one. Just make sure you have an external drive capable of
Very technical and empirical in its approach. I found it useful for the class and the FE review. It may or may not make it to the PE as a reference. We'll see. I am taking the Civil PE: Structural in April, will need Hydraulics for the morning part.
Be aware that this is an international versions. The page numbers and appendix organization do not match the original. But for the cost, it is very useable. All the content seems to be there.
Thanks a lot for putting this brand new book I payed for in the wrong size box and damging it. Played a lot for it only to have it looking all bent up like the pictures show. I need this for class so I cannot afford to waste time with the return and ordering a new one process. Very unhappy.
This is a great book but not entirely expressible for the novice reader. I will keep this book in my library.
This may be one of the only books that gives a broad and complete-as-possible overview of hydrogeology for students.
